講者：陳亮欽副總 演講題目：Silicon wafer manufacturing technology 演講時間：3/25（五）15:30~17:20 演講地點：博雅館 201 主持人：萬本儒教授 Introduction Dr. Liang-Chin CHEN obtained his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Minnesota, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Master Degree from National Taiwan University, Department of Chemical Engineering. He has authored or co-authored 10+ papers during his study in graduate school. Dr. Chen has more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including III-V and Silicon materials and device processing. He is now more focused on silicon wafer processing as the engineering director at SunEdison Semiconductor, Taiwan (Taisil Electronic Materials) (NYSE: SEMI). He is responsible for process development/improvement, equipment maintenance, and facility maintenance. The challenge of silicon technology is to make chips smaller, faster, and less energy consuming. With such objectives, silicon raw materials/wafer requirements are more and more critical. Dr. Chen led the team in Taiwan to develop process technology to fabricate wafers suitable for the 10nm design rule (ex. A10 chip to be used in iPhone 7) and 16nm design rule (ex. A9x chip to be used in iPhone 6).
