The Warren K. Lewis Award recognizes educators who have made outstanding contributions to chemical engineering education and is the most prestigious award in the field of chemical education in the United States. The award ceremony will take place this November at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.
Nominees for the Warren K. Lewis Award have outstanding achievements in many aspects of education, including a deep understanding of professional knowledge and the ability to motivate students and colleagues to achieve higher. They should also make contributions that have a lasting impact on chemical education, such as publishing textbooks, giving lectures, and developing laboratory techniques or models. In addition, have a profound impact on the education of chemical engineering students through publication of academic papers, inventions, contributions to industrial development, or through consulting government agencies.
Prof. 范 is currently a Distinguished Professor of the Department of Chemical and Molecular Bioengineering at Ohio State University, USA. After graduating from the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 1970, he went to the United States to finish his graduate degree. In 1975, he received a PhD in Chemical Engineering in West Virginia University, USA. . Professor 范's innovations and breakthroughs in science and engineering research have been recognized by many honors and awards. Professor 范 is an academician of the Academia Sinica, an academician of the National Academy of Engineering, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a foreign academician of the Australian Institute of Technology, Science and Engineering (ATSE), a foreign academician of the Mexican National Academy of Sciences, an academician of the American Academy of Inventors, and a foreign academician of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Prof. 范 was recognized as one of the 100 most outstanding engineers of the 21th century by the American Society of Chemical Engineers.
