and design of zeolite catalysts; solid acidity, shape selectivity and loading
property
Zeolite is an important catalytic material, and we depend strongly
on the catalytic functions for the industrial chemical process. In the
presentation, three important functions, solid acidity, shape selectivity, and
loading property, will be elucidated using our previous experimental
observations. Ammonia temperature programmed desorption (TPD) technique
for characterization of zeolite acidity, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of
silica on the external surface to enhance the shape selectivity, and XAFS measurements
to study Pd highly dispersed on the zeolite will be shown, exemplified with
interesting observations of the catalytic activity and selectivity.
