To achieve the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and foster research technologies and talented scholars related to net zero carbon emissions, the "2023 Net Zero Carbon Emissions Technology International Competition @ Taiwan" was organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, with support from industry partners such as CPC Corporation, Shiny Chemical Industrial Company Limited, Teco Image Systems, and Creative Sensor Inc. The competition, hosted by the TECO Technology Foundation and National Taiwan University, covers six major technological domains:
(1) Renewable energy
(2) Advanced energy storage systems, high-efficiency, low-energy consumption, and low-carbon emission technologies
(3) Negative carbon, carbon capture, storage, and reuse technologies
(4) Electric vehicles, energy-efficient motors, green energy transportation
(5) Waste treatment and purification technologies, zero waste in resource recycling, and green energy buildings
(6) Energy-saving technologies
Among 146 teams from both domestic and international participants, the team guided by Professor Nae-Lih Wu, consisting of students 劉浩汶, THI SHIKI, 陳璽, and 余佩蓁 achieved third place and won the Best Popularity Award with their project titled '電池明日之星—高效能鹵素全固態鋰電池技術開發與循環經濟的完美結合'. Their success reflects the combination of technology and creativity. The hope is that these students will continue to shine in their relevant research endeavors.
