1. Purpose:
Dr. Terry Chern is an alumnus from the class of 1975. In order to encourage subsequent students to actively engage in academic research and the development of chemical products, this scholarship was especially established to support a bachelor project competition and a chemical engineering product development competition.
Dr. 蔡政憲 is an alumnus from the class of 1988. In order to encourage subsequent students to actively engage in academic research, this scholarship was especially established to support a bachelor project competition in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
2. Qualifications:
Only undergraduate students of the department who have taken the project course may sign up for the competition. One may attend the competition individually or in team, but the contribution of each team member must be described in detail.
3. How to participate:
1. Submit the application form (Appendix 1) and work authorization agreement (Appendix 2) to room N210 of the 2nd Chemical Engineering Building before, Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
2. Submit a presentation slide deck with narrations that lasts about 7 to 10 minutes and an electronic poster to chiench@ntu.edu.tw before Saturday, February 25, 2024. (The content of the presentation slide deck should correspond to the content of the poster, only the layout needs to be altered to fit the PowerPoint format.)
3. Submit and display a poster (poster format A0, 90x120cm, vertical) at the designated time and place (announced later) before the competition.
4. Competition time and venue: Monday, March 4, 2024 at 9:45~12:30 at the 2nd Chemical Engineering Building. The poster presentations and slide presentations will proceed simultaneously. There will be a Q&A session with the judges for about 6 minutes.。
5. Evaluation committee and scoring principles: The department chair and the student affairs committee have invited experts from both the academia and industry to form a "chemical engineering product development competition review committee" (with at least 5 people).
6. Awards: There will be 1 松柏 Gold Award, 1 訊聯 Gold Award, at most 2 Silver Awards, at most 3 Bronze Awards, and a number of excellent work awards (there may also be no winner for some awards). In addition to a certificate and public commendation, the winners will also receive scholarships (NTD 15,000 for 松柏 Gold Award and 訊聯 Gold Award, NTD $7,000 for Silver Award, NTD $ 3,000 for Bronze Award, and NTD $ 1,000 for Excellent Work).
7. If the award-winning work is in violation of academic ethics, it will be handled in accordance with the regulations of the department (school) "博、碩士學位論文違反學術倫理案件處理要點".
