Research Scholarship

Deadline

Amount & Awards

Total 15-30 people; NT$150,000 and a certificate of merit per recipient.

Eligibility

1.          Graduate students in the second year (including) or above of the doctoral program in any of the 104 departments/institutes of science and engineering.

2.          Each semester's average academic score since matriculation to the research institute needs to be above 80 points; if the university uses grades instead of points, applicants need to submit the score and grade comparison table of the university for evaluation.

3.          Each department or institute is entitled to recommend one candidate.

Application Process

1.          Upload documents via CTCI Foundation's online application system as announced on website.

2.          Download and print the PDF files generated by the application system, and submit them to the department/institute.

3.          CTCI Foundation will not accept any individual applications.

Innovation and Creativity Scholarship

Deadline

Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Amount & Awards

Total 7-15 teams or individuals; NT$150,000 and a certificate of merit for each winning team/individual.

Eligibility

1.          Students who are in the third year (or above) or currently enrolled in master's degree programs of colleges and universities recognized by the Ministry of Education are eligible to apply individually or in teams. The team members may come from different departments or research institutes of various universities.

2.          Each semester’s average academic score needs to be above 70 points; if the university uses grades instead of points, applicants need to submit the score and grade comparison table of the university for evaluation.

3.          Projects or prototypes combining technological innovation and R&D related to design, promotion, advocacy, and application.

4.          Applicants apply independently and do not need to be recommended by the department.

2.          Applicants should prepare the following three pieces of hard copy information and mail them to China National Technical Society before September 10th (the delivery deadline for hard copy materials is based on the postmark, overdue documents will not be accepted):

(1)      Application form (taken from the "Complete Collection" information page downloaded from the online registration system)

(2)      Original transcripts for each semester in previous academic years

(3)      At least one recommendation letter from advisors or other professors

Bursary Award for Overseas Students

Amount & Awards

Total 5-15 people; NT$100,000 per recipient.

Eligibility

1.          Overseas graduate students currently enrolled in master or doctoral courses of any of the 104 departments/institutes of science and engineering. (For the extensiveness of resource allocation reason, Bursary Award are only awarded once and will not be given repeatedly to previous recipients.)

2.          Each semester's average academic score since matriculation to the research institute needs to be above 75 points; if the university uses grades instead of points, applicants need to submit the score and grade comparison table of the university for evaluation.

3.          Each department or institute is entitled to recommend one candidate (also see appendix for department and institute lists).
