Amount & Awards

Up to NTD 100,000 per recipient. Based on the number of applications, the Scholarship Committee of the Department may decide to increase the number of recipients within the NTD 100,000 limit for each category.

Scholarship Recipients

Undergraduate and graduate students in the Department who meet the following criteria:

1.          Financially disadvantaged, academically outstanding, and diligent in character.

2.          Exceptionally talented and gifted: demonstrating notable achievements in areas such as culture, sports, or the arts worthy of recognition.

Eligibility

1.          Good conduct, with no criminal or adverse records.

2.          An overall academic average of 70 points (GPA 2.44) or above in the previous academic year; applicants for the Financially Disadvantaged and Outstanding category must have an average of 75 points (GPA 2.93) or above.

3.          Must not be receiving other scholarships or financial aid during this academic year. In special circumstances, supporting documents are required for review to allow concurrent receipt of other aid.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to fill out the Scholarship Submission Form (Attachment 4) and email it to the responsible staff member at chiench@ntu.edu.tw. Please arrange the application documents in the following order and submit them to Rm. N210, Tseng Jiang Hall North Wing, before the deadline.

1.          Financially Disadvantaged and Outstanding Category:

(1)      Application form (updated version; please use the new application form in the attachment).

(2)      Declaration form.

(3)      Photocopies of transcripts from all academic years (first-year undergraduates must provide a high school transcript; first-year master's students must provide undergraduate transcripts; first-year doctoral students must provide master's transcripts; students advancing directly from undergraduate to doctoral studies must provide undergraduate transcripts).

(4)      Photocopy of award and penalty records.

(5)      Household registration transcript.

(6)      Documentation proving financial hardship, such as government-issued certificates for low-income households, middle-low income households, or special circumstances, as well as evidence of any family emergencies or related documentation such as student loans. Additionally, include the original or a photocopy with the National Tax Bureau watermark of the income information list for all family members from the previous year.

(7)      List of academic journal articles and the first page of each article (if applicable)

2.          Exceptionally Talented Category:

(1)      Application form (updated version; please use the new application form in the attachment).

(2)      Declaration form.

(3)      Photocopies of transcripts from all academic years (first-year undergraduates must provide a high school transcript; first-year master's students must provide undergraduate transcripts; first-year doctoral students must provide master's transcripts; students advancing directly from undergraduate to doctoral studies must provide undergraduate transcripts).

(4)      Photocopy of award and penalty records.

(5)      Published documents, works, awards, or other supporting materials.

(6)      A video of up to five minutes showcasing achievements or supporting evidence, with an option for the applicant to present or perform at the selection meeting.

(7)      Recommendation letter from a teacher or relevant authority.
