Number of Awards

In principle, up to 15 recipients will be selected across the university each year (combined total with the Postdoctoral Researcher Remote Learning Grant).

Eligibility

Applicants must be current NTU PhD students who have passed the PhD candidacy qualification exam, and have received funding from the most recent NSTC Overseas Research Grant for PhD Students (known as the Thousand Talents Program). This grant supports extending their overseas research period for up to 6 months.

Application Documents

1.          PhD Student Remote Research Supplementary Grant Application Form (Attachment 1).

2.          Proof of approval and funding from NSTC for overseas research under the Thousand Talents Program.

3.          Documentation explaining the host institutions global ranking, reputation, or significance, and a copy of any Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NTU (college/department/unit) and the host institution (if available).

4.          Application materials required under Article 7 of the NSTC Guidelines for Overseas Research by PhD Students.

5.          A letter of recommendation and consent from the overseas advisor agreeing to the extension of the research stay.

6.          A letter of recommendation and consent from the NTU advisor agreeing to the extension.

7.          A detailed research proposal for the extension period (including updated progress, research achievements, publications, etc.).
