[Awards] 114th Academic Year Bachelor’s Thesis Awards

Recipients of this Announcement: Currently enrolled undergraduate students in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

The 2025 Bachelor’s Thesis Awards are now open for application. Interested students should refer to the attached evaluation guidelines, procedural flowchart, and the "Bachelor’s Thesis Awards" section on the university website. Please pay close attention to the following key points and deadlines:

1. Eligibility

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate students of this university and serve as the primary researcher and author of the thesis.

  • The core research work of the thesis must be completed during the applicant's period of enrollment at this university.

  • If applying with collaborative research results, a detailed description of each participant's specific contribution must be provided and verified by the signatures of all researchers.

2. Application Deadline 

  • Monday, April 20, 2026.

3. Application Method

Please submit your application to the Department Office according to the announced method and thesis format for the current year, including the following materials:

  1. Three copies of the thesis (including electronic files and the "Thesis Acceptance Certificate") that have been reviewed and passed by three oral examination committee members.

  2. A recommendation letter from the thesis advisor (format is not restricted).

4. Evaluation Procedures

  • Stage 1 (Department Level): Each department will select the top 20% of eligible theses for the recommendation list. If the calculation results in fewer than 2 students, up to 2 candidates may be recommended. The ranked list will be forwarded to the respective College for Stage 2.

  • Stage 2 (College Level): Each College will evaluate and rank the departmental recommendations. The College may recommend 1 candidate for the university-wide Fu Ssu-nien Undergraduate Thesis Award with others being awarded the Dean’s Award or Excellence Award based on excellence.

  • Stage 3 (University Level): The university will convene the "Undergraduate Student Thesis Fu Ssu-nien Award Evaluation Committee" to review College recommendations. Up to 6 Fu Ssu-nien Undergraduate Thesis Awards and several President’s Awards will be granted; all other candidates will receive the Dean’s Award.

6. Advisor and Committee Fees

For theses applied under these guidelines:

  • Internal Advisors: Eligible for a thesis guidance fee of TWD 2,000 per thesis.

  • Oral Examination Committee Members: Eligible for an examination review fee of TWD 1,000 per thesis.

  • External Committee Members: Traveling expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with the university’s "Standards for Graduate Student Degree Examination Review Fees, Thesis Guidance Fees, and External Member Traveling Expenses."
