Research Topic
Our research centers on electrochemistry and energy materials to address the growing demand for energy storage, which results in need for low-cost, sustainable battery technologies. Novel cathode structures, such as disordered rocksalt and partially disordered spinel, offer high energy density and broad compositional flexibility. The research will focus on the synthesis of Earth-abundant cathode materials for Li-ion batteries and investigating their ion-transport mechanisms and structural properties using advanced electrochemical and structural characterization techniques.
We will also apply electrochemical/solution intercalation and exfoliation to modify two-dimensional (2D) material thin films. By controlling intercalant chemistry, electrochemical potential, and reaction kinetics, the research aims to investigate transport properties and phase transformations during intercalation and develop tunable control of structural and electronic properties of 2D materials for applications in electronics and energy storage.
